After Gregory thought back on his life and went to sleep on Monday’s General Hospital, the inevitable happened on the May 21, 2024 episode.
After bringing Violet (Jophielle Love, who just celebrated her birthday) to her half-day of school, Finn (Michael Easton) arrived home with bagels from Eckert’s. Assuming his father was sleeping in after being exhausted from the wedding the night before, Finn finally called for him and knocked on his door.
When Finn was met with no response, he walked into the room to find Gregory (Gregory Harrison) still in his bed. After not finding a pulse, Finn broke down at his father’s bedside, repeating that he loved him.
It didn’t take long for Finn — who already had a slip of sobriety at the wedding — to pour a drink as he waited for the coroner to arrive. He watched as they examined his father’s deceased body and confirmed Gregory died in his sleep from heart failure.
Finn still had his drink in his hand when he decided to call Chase (Josh Swickard), who was just about to board a plane to Italy with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) for their honeymoon. “I don’t know how to do this, bro, so I’m just going to say it,” Finn began before telling Chase their father had died.
Chase tearfully asked if their dad felt any pain and Finn assured him he didn’t. Brook Lynn consoled her new husband at the airport while Finn reflected on his recent fight with Gregory just as Violet got home.
