Daniel Goddard made his big return to the soap opera genre since his last appearance on The Young and the Restless in 2019.
He popped up in Port Charles as Professor Henry Dalton, an environmental physics professor who is currently under investigation on General Hospital. Professor Charles has an attraction to his young female students.
In a new social media post, Goddard shared his thoughts on this role and why he was grateful.
Feeling Grateful
Goddard couldn’t contain his gratitude. In a new video message posted on X, formerly Twitter, he thanked GH for allowing him to be part of the “historic show.” Goddard wrote, “Thank you, Frank Valentini, for letting me become a part of this historic show. Thank you to Mark Teshner for believing in me… and thank you to all of the fans, cast, and crew who have welcomed me with open arms, and shown me nothing but love… I do this for you, and you have no idea how much it means to me.”

But that’s not all. Goddard had much more to share in his video message. The soap star revealed the truth behind his difficult role. Goddard was hanging out on set, waiting to film his scene. He realized that he needed to share something with fans.
“It just dawned on me… I’m back on set, and I’m so lucky and I’m so grateful,” Goddard shared. He looked around as the crew was busy filming. He concluded his message by repeating, “I’m so grateful.” As you can see in the above-mentioned video, he couldn’t stop beaming. It was as if Goddard couldn’t believe his luck.
Soap Fans React
It was a short and simple message, yet it was effective. Goddard is over the moon to be working in soaps once again. Meanwhile, his fans rallied around him in the comments section.
One user wrote, “It shows, bro!!” They also offered a suggestion, adding, “Go on [State of Mind podcast] with [Maurice Benard], please! We adore you and are so happy to see you on my screen again!”

Other fans were happy to see Goddard back on their screens, even if he was playing a controversial character.
“I’ve been a fan of yours since Beastmaster, and I’m excited but also kinda sad you’re playing a creep🤣,” one fan joked before adding, “Have fun with that tho!”
Some fans had burning questions about Goddard’s previous role as Cane on Y&R.
One fan asked, “Will [you] also return as Cane, and Billy Flynn is your son? I hope you go back and forth like Wally (Ned/Justin) does.”
Days of our Lives alum Billy Flynn will make his debut as Aristotle Dumas on Y&R this week. What are your thoughts on Goddard’s video message? Let us know in the comments section.
