Jacqueline Grace Lopez has had quite the journey on General Hospital over the years. Whether she was hitting the stage as a popstar, dealing with the difficult journey of coming out to her homophobic mother, or simply playing an under-five babysitter, Lopez shone in Port Charles, and her most recent performance earned the actress her very first Daytime Emmy nomination.

Key Takeaways

  • Jacqueline Grace Lopez is nominated for Outstanding Guest Performer at the 2025 Daytime Emmys.
  • Lopez played Blaze on GH from 2022-2024.
  • This is Lopez’s first-ever Daytime Emmy nomination.

Out With A Blaze

Lopez played Blaze from 2022-2024, before that, made two appearances in Port Charles as Leo’s babysitter. But it’s her role as Blaze that garnered the recognition in 2024, with a storyline full of uncertainty, romance, and family drama.

When Blaze and Kristina (Kate Mansi, who is also nominated at this year’s Daytime Emmys) began falling in love, their relationship hit the brakes when Blaze’s homophobic mother arrived in Port Charles. Natalia (Eva LaRue) was not just a momager to Blaze’s singing career, but completely unaccepting of her gay daughter.

Lopez played the delicate storyline with a balance of emotion and rage, portraying a daughter who just wants to be loved and accepted for who she is, not who her mother wants her to be.

Aside from the emotional toll of coming out and the tenderness of falling in love, there was a moment last summer things took a turn for Blaze. After witnessing her girlfriend fall from a Metro Court hotel room into the pool, it happened in the blink of an eye as Kristina broke up with her to let her chase her dream and go on tour, breaking Blaze’s heart and ending Lopez’s run on GH.

Will Lopez Take Home The Gold?

Nominated for Outstanding Guest Performer, this marks Lopez’s first Daytime Emmy nod and second-ever award nomination. The actress shares the category with fellow GH stars Alley Mills (Heather) and Avery Kristen Pohl (Esme), as well as The Young and the Restless’ Linden Ashby (Cameron) and Valarie Pettiford (Amy), and The Bold and the Beautiful’s Clint Howard (Tom Starr).
