New mom Peta Murgatroyd of Dancing With the Stars has probably heard all kinds of ways in which labor can be induced. But why try spicy foods or red raspberry tea when you can do what you do best? The actress recently shared the special dance that she feels played a role in getting her to deliver her third son.
“This is the dance that made Milan dance out of ME,” Murgatroyd posted on Instagram following the birth of her and husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy‘s third son, Milan Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who was born on Friday, July 12 at 8:48 a.m. PT. “We filmed this in the morning, and he was probably sick and tired of being thrown around in my belly ha, ha!
“Special thanks to Diego Amozurrutia and Sofia Ghavami for this killer new song and choreo…we love that it got my labor going…love you guys!” Murgatroyd added.
Chmerkovskiy, who appeared as Anton on GH back in 2013, says that his wife’s time in labor was short. “He is officially evicted from his mom, and he is sooooo cute!!!!” the proud dad shared on Instagram. “[We] want to let you all know that mom and baby are doing perfect, and delivery took around 47 seconds total! Exactly one push!
“Also thank you all for the beautiful messages we have been receiving,” he continued. “Means a lot and very much appreciated.”
Well-wishers included DWTS judge Derek Hough who wrote: “Wow, that lil guy is fresh out of the cover :))).” Mirror ball champion Sharna Burgess shared, “I love you beyond!! Welcome to the fam Milan. Congratulations both of you xx.” Cheryl Burke, former DWTS pro, wrote, “He’s perfect! Congratulations.” Added Jenna Johnson, Milan’s aunt, “Cannot wait to meet you sweet boy.”
There’s a little over two months before DWTS Season 33 debuts on ABC on Tuesday, September 17. Might the new mom be ready to compete if the show invites her back this year? It’s possible. The star gave birth to middle son Rio in June 2023 and competed when the show started up in September. “I would love to,” Peta Murgatroyd told TV Insider a little over a year ago about doing the show once more.
“I was seven weeks post-partum with Shai when I went back to the show [in 2017]. It was interesting and amazing at the same time,” she shared. “I feel it was one of the best things for myself after I gave birth. It was a nice way to get back into doing what I love, doing what I did four hours a day. I think because I was a better mom because I had that time away each day.”
