The aftermath of Gregory’s death has been hitting Port Charles hard on General Hospital, and while Finn found comfort in a bottle of Bourbon, Chase found comfort from an unexpected source on the May 28, 2024 episode.
Skip The Platitudes
Still reeling over his father’s death with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) by his side, Chase (Josh Swickard) admitted he couldn’t handle any more sympathy when they heard a knock on the door. Brook Lynn assured him she would get rid of whoever it was, but that plan changed when she opened the door to Tracy (Jane Elliot).
Tracy offered her condolences, as well as rare bottles of wine to try and make up for the newlyweds missing their honeymoon. But when Chase thanked her for her kindness, she immediately offended him when she told him to “skip the platitudes.”
Good Grief
After Tracy apologized for her insensitivity, Chase admitted he wasn’t good at grief and tearfully revealed he blames himself for his father’s death. “That wedding was too much for my dad and that is why—” he said before Tracy cut him off.
She assured him that officiating his and Brook Lynn’s wedding was the honor of Gregory’s (Gregory Harrison, who received fond farewells from his GH castmates) life and was the thing that kept him alive. When Tracy eventually took her leave, Chase told Brook Lynn that he believed his father knew he could go now that he was married to her.
Aside from worrying his wedding was too much on his father, Chase also revealed his guilt over enjoying wine during his grief while Finn (Michael Easton) fell off the wagon. Brook Lynn reminded him that drinking isn’t as risky for him as it is for his brother, and Chase admitted he didn’t blame Finn for his slip after he found their father deceased.
