Evan Hofer is out as Dex on General Hospital. The rumors have swirled for a few days since it seemed like storylines foreshadowed Dex’s death.
Over And Out
Soap Opera Digest reported that Hofer is no longer on GH. A spokesperson for the ABC soap opera confirmed the news. Hofer portrayed Dex Heller starting May 5, 2022, and Dex died on the December 13 episode of the daytime drama. Apparently, the exit was storyline dictated.
A New Beginning Gone Wrong
Early on, Dex worked for Sonny (Maurice Benard). However, once he left Sonny’s payroll, Dex joined the Port Charles Police Department. Avid viewers know that earlier this week, a mystery person stabbed Dex in the back at Rice Plaza.
For a bit, it looked like Dex would come through the stabbing and subsequent surgery and recover with flying colors. Unfortunately for Joss (Eden McCoy) and the others who cared for Dex, that wasn’t the case.
Due to the circumstances of Dex’s death, it’s difficult not to compare it to Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) recent demise. Liz (Rebecca Herbst) certainly felt something was off with the situation. She realized he was the second person to die in Port Charles suddenly. Will she follow up on her suspicions?
As for Hofer, Soap Hub recently caught up with him at a fan event. He and Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) answered fan questions. Hofer and MacMullen shared their favorite Christmas traditions in a separate video interview.
It also looks like Hofer will star in the upcoming short Living the Dream. He’ll portray Zac in the film. We’ll bring you more details about this talented and beloved soap actor’s future as we learn them.
