Lentini debuted on the soap with a vengeance in July, hurling threats to keep Avery’s mama, Ava (Maura West), in line. The consummate young actress quickly proved she’s got what it takes to play opposite the soap’s power players. And, although she’s new to daytime, she has an interesting array of credits.

1. The born and bred New Yorker’s full name is Antonella Lucia Montes Lentini, but she simply goes by Ella Lentini professionally.
2. She’s a first-generation American of immigrant parents. Her mother, Jennifer, is of Peruvian descent, while her father, Lino, is Sicilian.
3. While attending the top-rated Beacon High School in Manhattan, Lentini became involved in political and social activism and traveled to South Africa and New Orleans as a volunteer. She went on to study creative writing, photography, and screenwriting at New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she graduated with honors.
4. In addition to acting, she’s also a writer, director, and filmmaker. She made her directorial debut in Piece of Cake, which screened at festivals across the world, including HBO’s Outfest. The project won awards at the IndieFEST Film Awards and the Best Shorts Competition.
5. Lentini made her acting debut in the 2000 short film Cusp. It explores a girl’s journey from adolescent to teenager.
6. She’s got game. Lentini voiced two characters, Hannah and Beth, in the 2015 interactive drama horror video game Until Dawn, which was developed by Supermassive Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 4.
