7 Things To Know About Evan Hofer, General Hospital’s New Addition, Dex

A newcomer named Dex recently came looking for a job on General Hospital and approached mob boss Sonny Corinthos about a position. The former Army vet and pal of Chet Driscoll is being portrayed by Evan Hofer.

Although a newcomer to the daytime medium, Hofer has an interesting array of credits in primetime and film. He’s appeared on Modern Family, The Haunted Hathaways, The Thundermans, and more.

1. Hofer, who hails from Leavenworth, KS, and was born on May 8, 1997. When it comes to celebrating his birthday, he likes his friends to plan surprises for him. So far, they’ve never disappointed him.

2. He got into acting via his sister, who actually showed an interest in it first. “She started to do plays… and I just wanted to spend time with her,” explained Hofer. “So I got into it as well, just so I could hang out with her. It all worked out well, and I fell in love with it.”

3. Hofer made his television debut in the 2010 movie, Everyday Kid. It was directed by Fred Savage.

4. He’s perhaps best known for his role as Randy in the Disney XD sitcom, Kickin’ It.

5. His breakout role came when he was cast as Dave Truett in the 2018 football film, Run the Race. Former NFL great Tim Tebow served as an executive producer on the project. “People just gravitate toward that guy,” said Hofer. “He’s incredible… Everything that you see, that’s him. He exudes kindness.”

6. Hofer also starred as Chlodwig, a prince, in the 2019 to 2021 series, Dwight in Shining Armor. At the time, he said, “I’m super lucky. I feel super fortunate that I get to play such an awesome and fun zany character. I love how honest and earnest he is at all times… He’s just being true to himself, to his core, and everything comes out of such a good place.

7. As far as social media goes, you can connect with Hofer on Instagram and Twitter via @evanhofer. “I’m very creative, I know,” he quipped about the handles. “I wanted to just be ‘E,’ but somebody already took it.”
