In the May 22 episode of General Hospital, Rocco stopped sitting by and letting the adults in his life make decisions for him. After Rocco heard his parents fight over Lulu wanting to take him on the run, he begged Britt to let him leave town with her, and she agreed.
Key Takeaways
- Rocco used his bond with Britt to get what he wanted.
- Britt was brutally honest with Rocco about life on the run.
- The teen’s decision shakes things up for Rocco in more ways than one.
The Plea Heard Around The World
When Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) called Rocco (Finn Carr) to meet her at the hospital, she wasn’t prepared for him to beg her to allow him to leave town with her. However, that’s exactly what Rocco did for his sake and the sake of his family.
Rocco has been spiraling ever since he shot Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). It hasn’t helped that Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) have been telling him what to do instead of listening to him.
All of that changed after Rocco used his desire to get to know Britt and to keep his family safe as a reason to go on the run. Britt finally gave in to Rocco’s plea, but with one major condition. Rocco had to contact his parents when she died from Huntington’s Disease, which wouldn’t be long without her medication.
Taking Care of Business
Since Rocco grabbed his fake passport before leaving home, the teen was ready to bolt with Britt immediately. In true soap fashion, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) busted them, leading Britt to lock her in a closet in her office.
Dante showed up at Britt’s office looking for Rocco after Lulu informed him the teen was missing and his last location was the hospital, and saved Elizabeth. The nurse filled Dante in on Rocco having his fake passport and that he planned to leave with Britt, which is how she ended up in the closet.
Before leaving town with Rocco, Britt called Sonny (Maurice Benard) to spill all about how Sidwell (Carlo Rotta) killed Dalton (Daniel Goddard), and Pascal (Marc Forget) helped him cover it up. Britt ran over their phones with her car so they couldn’t be tracked, then sped off out of the hospital parking.
One Split Decision Changes Everything
The fallout of Rocco and Britt leaving together will reach far and wide. For one, Rocco’s decision to go on the run with Britt over Lulu speaks volumes. While Rocco looks at it like he’s protecting his loved ones, that isn’t the way Dante or Lulu will see it all.
Rocco’s relationship with his parents will be forever changed by his turning to Britt when he was desperate, not to them. Once they get over the anger and fear for Rocco, the hurt will set in. Getting over that will be challenging for all involved, even when Rocco comes home, because we all know he will at some point.
Aside from the danger, hurt, and pain, Rocco is a minor, so Britt could be brought up on kidnapping charges. It certainly would be in the realm of possibly of things that Lulu and Dante would do.
There’s also how Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) will feel when they discover Rocco just bolted without even telling them.
Rocco’s missing means Dante will likely bring Sonny into the loop of what really went down on the pier. “Nathan” (Ryan Peavey) got it into his head about letting Sonny help Lulu and Rocco disappear. The same will go for using Sonny’s guys to find Rocco.
The walls just keep closing in on Rocco, shooting Cullu,m and the teens’ latest decision didn’t help that at all.
