Sonny was teetering near death on General Hospital (GH) this week, and luckily for him, there was a ghostly presence that helped him through. It also provided a wonderful reunion for the two actors involved.
Maurice Benard (Sonny) has always enjoyed working with Michael Sutton (Stone), but the older actor shared a piece of trivia in an Instagram photo the day the scenes aired.
Apparently, when Benard joined the show almost 25 years ago as the beloved mobster of Port Charles, his first scene was with the troubled Stone Cates.
He also shared that working with him on the AIDS storyline (Stone contracted the virus and ended up dying of the disease), shook him to his knees.
It was a tough story for all involved. Fans went crazy when legacy character, Robin (Kimberly McCullough), contracted the virus from Stone, who at the time was the love of her life.
Fans had watched Robin grow up in front of their eyes and seeing her deal with being HIV+ brought it home.
