It looks like Sam McCall will be looking a little different…and yet not…for a short time soon on General Hospital as veteran soap star Lindsay Hartley returns to Port Charles to sub for Kelly Monaco for a few episodes of the ABC soap.
Lindsay Hartley Returns To GH
Soap Hub has learned that Monaco is already back on set but that she did have to be replaced for a few episodes as the beloved actress took a break from her role as Alexis Davis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) oldest daughter. As fans know, this isn’t the first time the former All My Children, Days of our Lives, and Passions star has stepped into the role.
During the summer of 2020, Hartley filled in as Sam for a couple of weeks. Right now, Sam is in the middle of a brand-new romance with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), while also being faced with her past romance with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) as they try to co-parent their daughter Scout.
When she’s not having fun in Port Charles, Hartley has been staying very busy with her other career — directing. Recently she directed former GH and current Bold and the Beautiful star Sean Kanan (Deacon Sharpe) in Killer Ambition.
“Lindsay’s terrific,” raved Kanan to Soap Hub recently. “She’s an actress so it’s easy to talk to her as a director. She understands actors — how we think, how we work. She’s done more than a couple of these films. It was a really good experience.”
You can look for Hartley to make her first General Hospital appearance as Sam on February 3. It will be for a few episodes. The reason for Monaco’s break has not been given.
