There are printed reports that Daytime Emmy-winner Kelly Thiebaud is exiting General Hospital in November as she is returning to her role as Eva Vasquez on Station 19. Soap Hub has learned that while Thiebaud is indeed going back to the primetime firefighter/paramedic drama, she’s not hanging up Britt’s stethoscope just quite yet.
Kelly Thiebaud Returns to Station 19
Deadline reports that Kelly Thiebaud will air through November as Dr. Britt Westbourne on GH. However, both shows are not only ABC series, but they shoot on the same Hollywood lot. Could a deal be reached where she continues to do both roles?
Anything’s possible. However, right now, it doesn’t appear likely. GH doesn’t comment on actors’ contracts but Soap Hub hears that Thiebaud will check out of the ABC soap opera before the end of the year.
Eva’s Backstory
Thiebaud made her Station 19 debut as Eva back in 2020. The character of Eva is the widow of late Station 19 firefighter Rigo Vasquez (Rigo Sanche), who was on the show in Season 3. Eva cheated on Rigo with his colleague Jack Gibson (Grey Damon). Watch for Eva’s return to be as “messy and destructive” as her arrival.
“Misery loves company, and Eva finds solace with someone from her past,” ABC teases about Eva’s return to the Station 19 landscape.
Kelly Thiebaud – Forever Britch
Thiebaud chatted with Soap Hub on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys in June prior to her win in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series about Britt’s evolution from ‘the Britch’ to heroine. It was clear from her interview that Britt is near and dear to Thiebaud’s heart, and she’s enjoyed — and is enjoying — her run in Port Charles. In fact, she says that despite Britt’s evolution, she hopes never to fully lose the ‘Britch’ edge to her character.
“Every day, it continues to be fun and unpredictable, a crazy journey,” Thiebaud shared. “I’m constantly surprised and laughing. From where I started to where I am now, it’s night and day, and I’m so glad they’ve allowed her to blossom.”
On new leading man Josh Kelly (Cody Bell), Thiebaud says, “He’s really great. I’m happy he’s on the team with us. He’s a fun guy. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.”
