In the June 24 episode of General Hospital, Anna Devane returned. After months of being at the mental health facility in France with no good news, Anna was back in the mix. The former WSB agent proved she still knows how to play games to get her way, and it was brilliant.
Key Takeaways
- Anna was a new person in therapy.
- She was allowed to reach out to Felicia.
- Anna hasn’t lost her double agent moves.
Finally Anna Resurfaces
In France, Dr. Laurent (Kavi Ramachandran) talked to other doctors about Anna’s (Finola Hughes) case before they visited her. Anna enjoyed some time crocheting when the doctors arrived.
Anna seemed like a whole new person as she spoke to Dr. Laurent and owned her actions. Instead of being the freaked-out person terrified of Faison (Anders Hove) that she was the last time GH fans last saw her, Anna was her old self.
While she stated she had never been kidnapped, Anna remained poised and calm as she admitted there was no way Faison was still alive. Dr. Laurent was impressed with the progress that Anna had made and rewarded her for doing the work.
Hearing A Familiar Voice
During their session, Anna admitted it would help if she could talk to someone who understands her feelings about Faison. Anna convinced Dr. Laurent that the therapy would work better if she had a familiar face around.
The doctor agreed, and Anna reached out to her best friend, Felicia (Kristina Wagner). Anna wasted no time reconnecting with her friend before she asked Felicia to come visit her.
It was a gift Felicia had been waiting months to get, so she happily agreed to head to France. The happiness was written all over Felicia’s face as she told Emma (Braedyn Bruner) the good news.
Still Play Games
Anna put on a great show for her doctor and Felicia. However, when she was left alone, it was clear that Anna was faking her prognosis.
Instead of being recovered and believing what she was saying, Anna quickly morphed into someone desperate to get out of the mental health facility. Props to her because Anna sold it and had us convinced, she was the same old police commissioner that GH fans love and adore
In the short term, Anna’s plan is good, especially if she keeps the façade going when Emma and Felicia arrive and doesn’t try to convince them that Faison’s still alive. In the long run, though, Anna’s going to do herself more harm than good and possibly hurt her loved ones even more.
The GH summer preview confirmed that Anna isn’t her old self at all. In fact, she’s still reeling from the mind games that Sidwell (Carlo Rotta) and Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) played on her.
