In the May 18 episode of General Hospital, Anna’s family got a long-awaited update on her condition. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good news, leaving Emma reeling as she worried about her grandmother.

Key Takeaways

  • Laura had bad news for Anna’s family.
  • Emma freaked out as things looked bleak her grandmother.
  • Josslyn has been thrown in the mix.

Anna’s Situation Went from Bad to Worse

Laura (Genie Francis) arrived at the police station to fill Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Mac (John J. York) in on the latest development with Anna (Finola Hughes). Mac decided that Emma (Braedyn Bruner) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) should be there to hear the update.

However, instead of calling them in, Laura and Mac went to Anna’s apartment, where Felicia was helping Emma make dinner for Gio (Giovanni Mazza) as a thank you for the fabulous New York City getaway. When they arrived, Laura admitted she didn’t have good news about Anna.

It was revealed that Anna escaped the French clinic and hijacked a car, but was caught before she made it to the Swiss border. Anna has landed in more trouble than ever, and it didn’t go unnoticed by her family.

Emma Breaks Down Over Missing Anna

The news sent Emma reeling. Emma was already in her feelings about Anna after breaking a mug she had made for her grandmother as a kid. Lucky for Emma, Gio arrived to help her navigate the rest of the family meeting.

Because she escaped, Anna has now been placed in a facility in France for more difficult patients. It was either that or jail.

This had Emma worried for her grandmother. Emma feared the new facility would make Anna more paranoid that Fasion (Anders Hove) was coming after her family. She refused to believe there was nothing that could be done to help Anna.

Who Can Help Anna Now?

The fallout of the bad update on Anna has Emma and Laura determined to help Anna. In fact, Laura declared she had the perfect advocate to help them.

After months of just sitting by and waiting for Anna to get better, her family appears to be taking action, setting the stage for her return. At least we hope that is the case because Anna has been gone far too long.

Another sign that the stage is being set for Anna’s return is that Josslyn (Eden McCoy) found Anna’s message at Wyndemere. Josslyn’s being held captive, so we are not sure how she will help.

However, her finding that note means one more person knows that Anna didn’t go on a WSB mission. In the soap world, once one person knows something, it’s only a matter of time before others find out.
