On General Hospital, Alexis and Ned slept together when Alexis was drunk and Ned was convinced his wife, Olivia, was off having an affair with Robert. Afterward, both agreed it was a stupid thing to do and decided to keep it a secret. Of course, Tracy (Jane Elliot) took matters into her own hands, and wackiness ensued.
Now that the truth is out, the most important thing will be laying the bulk of the blame on the right person. Who do almost 2,000 viewers think was more at fault?
A majority 82% of the audience are pointing the finger at Ned (Wally Kurth). For one thing, he’s the one who’s married, so he’s the one who was cheating. For another thing, he’s the one who was cranky about his wife speaking to a sexy, dashing secret agent like Robert (Tristan Rogers).
Sure, Ned has the right to feel insecure in comparison. But he didn’t have to do anything stupid about it. And, finally, sure, Ned may have been drinking, same as Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), but it shouldn’t matter if both parties were equally intoxicated, it’s up to the man to get consent, and since a drunk woman can’t give it, anything that happens afterward is his fault.
A much smaller 18% of you are looking cross-eyed at Alexis. Was it not her choice to get drunk? Was it not her choice to have sex with a guy she knew was married? Sure, he should have known she was drunk. But doesn’t that mean Alexis should have known that he was drunk? If Ned doesn’t get to escape his responsibility, why should she?
And, remember, the last guy Alexis slept with ended up dead. So she should be really careful these days. It’s a matter of life and death! General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
