High Spirits And High Goals: Eddie Alderson Update

The soap world was shocked last year when Eddie Alderson announced he’d been diagnosed with cancer. We watched him grow up before our eyes as Matthew Buchanan on One Life to Live, along with his sister, Kristen, who played Starr.

While he was pleased to tell us his first round of treatments was over and had went well this past spring, he did admit he was undergoing another round this summer.

To prepare for the summer chemotherapy, Alderson shaved his head and made his new look public on Instagram, but today he took to the social media platform with even more information about his treatment.

Alderson is clearly not out of the woods yet as he enters the hospital to begin a stem cell transplant. Despite this daunting treatment ahead of him, the young actor remains a fighter, admitting it won’t be easy but reassuring fans “I’ve got this.”
