Exit, Stage Left: Has General Hospital (GH) Lost More Actors Than It Can Afford?

It’s been a practically biblical exodus on General Hospital (GH) this year.

It’s had Emmy-winning Jane Elliot (Tracy) leading the way as she knew she was going to retire for a year. Then came the firing of Teresa Castillo (Sabrina), the departure of Bryan Craig (Morgan), and now Rebeca Budig (Hayden) and Robert Palmer Watkins (Dillon).

Is it all too much? Here’s what almost 3,000 of you had to say about it.

Change Is Bad!
It’s a landslide, as 94% of you are feeling whiplash. Port Charles just doesn’t look like Port Charles anymore.

Tracy should have stayed and become the next Quartermaine matriarch. Granted, she never could have been the next Lila (Anna Lee), but she sure could have taken up where Edward (John Ingle) left off. Can’t you just see Dillion staring out the window while Tracy begged for life-saving medication? That would have been fun.

And speaking of Dillon, why get rid of a young, leading man who isn’t related to the majority of the canvas? So, Dillon didn’t click big with Lulu (Emme Rylan) or Valerie (Brytni Sarpy), but to many he clicked with Kiki (Hayley Erin)? Why not explore their romance some more.

Port Charles already lost one hunk when Morgan went ‘boom’ (speaking of people who didn’t click big with Kiki), can it really afford another one?

Circle of Life
Boring people can go anytime, offer 5% of the audience. As for the popular characters… heck who doesn’t love a good cry once in a while?

Besides, if beloved residents don’t leave soap town once in a while, then there’s no sense of danger, no risk. If we know everyone is going to live happily ever after and never leave, what’s going to keep us on the edge of our seats or, more importantly, tuning in daily?

Gotta keep the people of Port Charles — and the audience — on their toes!
