It looks like the walls really are closing in on Nelle on General Hospital (GH), and she may not be able to open them again.
While we do not know exactly how she’ll be written out, Daytime Confidential reports that Chloe Lanier has taped her last scenes. With GH taping only a few weeks in advance, it doesn’t look like long before this character gets what she deserves.
Hopefully Lanier also gets what she deserves, though: Word is that she is leaving for a primetime career and she has the talent to get there.
The Daytime-Emmy-winner first appeared on GH in 2015 for just a few episodes as a young Pat Spencer in the flashbacks that explained how Luke killed both his father and mother.
The soap was so impressed by her talents that she was hired a year later to play a newly created character written just for her.
That’s when Nelle Hayes was born, aka Nelle Benson or Janelle Benson. She arrived as Josslyn’s secret kidney donor, and eventually she learned her father was the man who adopted Carly and then left her and her adoptive mother when she was just a toddler. He apparently also sold Nelle’s kidney.
Since then, Nelle has been nothing but trouble for the Corinthos Clan, and anyone else who has gotten in her way. Lanier played her to perfection, but her time on GH has come to a close.
As Soap Hub learns more about how Nelle will be written out, we’ll keep you informed.
