Go To Hell, Nelle: Is It Time For This Ton Of Trouble To Leave General Hospital (GH)?

Based on actress Chloe Lanier’s portrayal of oldest Spencer sister Patricia on General Hospital’s (GH) 52nd Anniversary flashback episode, many viewers were actually excited to see her back in Port Charles as a brand new character, Nelle Hayes, the following year.

They were intrigued as to why Nelle seemed to have such a grudge against Carly (Laura Wright) that she was willing to pretend to sleep with Sonny (Maurice Benard) in order to enact her revenge.

They were curious as to how Nelle’s kidney ended up inside Joss (Eden McCoy), and they were open to a relationship between Nelle and Michael (Chad Duell).

And then their questions were answered. Nelle was the biological daughter of Carly’s adoptive father, Frank Benson. Frank worked with Joss’s dad, Jax (Ingo Rademacher), to sell his daughter’s organ. (Hey, she has two, doesn’t she?)

We were left unimpressed. Then, Nelle’s romance with Michael went off the rails when Nelle was revealed to be nutso-cuckoo. She’s using her pregnancy to hold onto Michael even as she tries to drive Carly crazy.

Or, as the last straw, take this “good actress, bad character,” and have her play someone else. If it’s good enough for Roger Howarth and Michael Easton….
