The West Coast is experiencing one of its most dangerous years ever as the number of wildfires has reached historic levels in 2021, impacting millions in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and California. One of those that have been affected is General Hospital star Lynn Herring, who plays Lucy Coe.
Lynn Herring Gives Thanks
The beloved soap vet, who also played Lisanne Gardner on Days of our Lives and has been married to that show’s alum, Wayne Northrop (ex-Roman Brady), since 1981, took to social media to thank firefighters for their brave efforts in helping to save their property when fires came dangerously close.
“We are one of the many ranch families that had fire at our door,” the actress posted to Twitter, along with photos of the brave men and women from units fighting the fires. “Words aren’t enough to explain our gratitude and awe 4 these men & women of Aptos, Scott Valley and Central Fire.”
In a follow-up Tweet, Herring posted more photos of the rescue crews and offered more of her heartfelt thanks to the brave heroes helping those in harm’s way.

California is experiencing more wildfires than ever due to a combination of extreme heat, extended drought conditions, and dry terrain creating the conditions for rapid spread. In fact, more than twice as many acres burned in the first six months of this year than during the same period last year, and there have been hundreds of more fires.

Now that one partner, Maxie Jones, is skipping town, and her other partner, Sasha Gilmore is pregnant, Lucy has been running ragged.
