“Spencer has a lot of things that make him feel ‘othered’ in life,” Chavez said on The Talk. “he comes from a really, really wealthy family but I think the fans really connect to is that he’s really desperate for a connection with other people in spite of where he comes from. he’s made to feel ‘othered’ because of the background that he’s come from. He has a hard time connecting with his friends.”

“But in those moments, where his real personality shines through and he becomes what I like to call his ‘best self,’ I think that they see the glimmers of light coming through and I think that they enjoy seeing that.”
