It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas — or at least feel like it with cooler temperatures and General Hospital star Eden McCoy couldn’t be happier!
Eden McCoy Talks Christmas And Beyond
The year 2021 has been a tough one for everyone, and McCoy (Josslyn Jacks) is looking forward to many activities this holiday season that she was not able to do last year. Soap Hub caught up with the young actress and asked about her holiday plans.
Tell us about any holiday traditions you look forward to each year?
Eden McCoy: Oh my gosh, there are a lot! Last year we weren’t able to do a bunch of them, because everything was shut down for Covid. But this year, it looks like we’ll be able to do the Zoo Holiday Lights walk again at the L.A. Zoo, which is just amazing. There are big glowing animal figures, a disco ball forest, and this amazing twinkling tunnel with colors swirling all around.
I also always do a gingerbread house with my mom, and she gets me a chocolate advent calendar every year which is just so fun. We’ve always gone skating at the ice skating rink at Staples downtown L.A. It’s super festive and I love the holiday music they blast. And my favorite of all every year is dropping off toys for Toys for Tots – they have a location at Freeway Insurance, which is really close to where I’m living at USC now so I can do multiple drops.

What do you like most about the holidays?
Eden McCoy: The change in weather in L.A. for December is really nice – I like the cooler air and everything just feels fresh. I love walking my dog around my parents’ neighborhood where all the yards and houses have holiday lights and front yard displays – people really get into it where they live! I also get a nice long break from school and sports for the holidays, so I have more time to reconnect with friends. And, of course, there’s the holiday drink menu that most coffee shops have!
Are there any New Year’s Resolutions you’re thinking about?
Eden McCoy: Probably like a lot of us, I’m going to commit to healthier eating this year – more green smoothies and vegetable drinks, and I need to cut way back on sugar. My sweet tooth is a real problem. I get away with it because of volleyball workouts but I know it isn’t healthy for my insides. I also want to find time to take a really good acting workshop and read a classic book that isn’t for school. Right now I’m thinking I’ll choose Anna Karenina – I know it’s a tragic story but wow is it soapy. Also, I don’t know much about Russia and I’m currently fascinated by it for some reason.
Eden McCoy is a busy young lady with much to look forward to in 2022. Meanwhile, over at General Hospital, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) and Josslyn are sure to bring on lots of drama for fans to enjoy in the coming year.
