Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the not-too-far-off future?

General Hospital C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles? Are any well-remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of August 15, 2022
Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) court case wraps up this week, which means more air time for the town’s legal folk. Carolyn Hennesy is back as Trina’s attorney, Diane Miller.

Meanwhile, Rueben Grundy returns as Judge Oliver Young, while Jennifer Field pops back in as assistant district attorney Jennifer Arden.

Also, Gregory Harrison is reportedly now on contract as Gregory Chase, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) father. Harrison took over the role from James Read (Clyde, Days of our Lives) in 2020.

General Hospital History

GH made its debut in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley, taking place at a hospital but in an unnamed city. In fact, the setting wasn’t named Port Charles until the late 1970s. General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.

From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
