It’s farewell to Jason, again. Steve Burton is out as Jason Morgan, having made his last appearance on November 19, after refusing to comply with the show’s Covid-19 vaccination mandate. The character has been presumed dead, after a cave collapse in Greece.
Burton initially began playing Jason in 1991 and remains optimistic about a possible return to the soap. “Maybe one day, if these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan,” shared Burton via a video message on Instagram. “That would be an honor.
John J. York is set to make an appearance as Mac Scorpio. Look for the character to deliver difficult news to one of his colleagues.

GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) many decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please its viewers.
