General Hospital C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day-player roles? Are any well-remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of November 7, 2022

Genie Francis is finally back on the canvas as Port Charles mayor, Laura Collins. The actress had been on summer vacation for months.

Alley Mills’ character was finally revealed. She’s the new Heather Webber. The character was last played by Robin Mattson. Mills, of course, is known to fans of The Bold and the Beautiful as Pam Douglas.

Jacqueline Grace Lopez has won the role of Blaze. She is Chase’s (Josh Swickard) new singing partner.

A new actress is taking over as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) daughter. Scarlett Brielle is playing Donna Corinthos.

Denise Crosby wrapped up her short run as Carolyn Webber, Elizabeth Webber Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) mother.

General Hospital History

GH made its debut in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley, taking place at a hospital in an unnamed city. In fact, the setting wasn’t named Port Charles until the 1970s. General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.

From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
