Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the not-too-far-off future?
General Hospital C&G News
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day-player roles? Are any well-remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The week of August 29, 2022
A popular performer from yesteryear is set to resurface in Port Charles, although it won’t be for a while. Emma Samms will be reprising her role as Holly Sutton in October. Samms was supposed to return to the soap in 2021 but had to cancel due to Covid.
Robert Adamson is picking up a couple more days of work as Michael Corinthos, once again filling in for Chad Duell. Look for the actor, who previously played Noah Newman on The Young and the Restless, to make his first of two appearances this week.
Samuel Lang is playing Li. The character is mob boss Selena Wu’s (Lydia Look) bodyguard.
General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley, taking place at a hospital but in an unnamed city. In fact, the setting wasn’t named as Port Charles until the 1970s. General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
