Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week or in the not too far off future?

General Hospital C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles? Are any well-remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of April 4, 2022

Get ready for a new Alexis Davis to debut in Port Charles. Daytime vet Nancy Lee Grahn is out, albeit only temporarily while the actress recovers from back surgery.

In Grahn’s absence, Stephanie Erb is taking over the role. Erb previously portrayed Camille Owens on Port Charles. She also had small roles on Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless.

Gregory Harrison pops back in as Gregory Chase on Monday, April 4. He’ll share scenes opposite Michael Easton’s Hamilton Finn, Josh Swickard’s Harrison Chase, and Jophielle Love’s Violet Finn.

Lydia Look airs as Selina Wu in scenes with Donnell Turner’s Curtis Ashford on Tuesday, April 5.

Hudson West and Enzo De Angelis appear as Elizabeth Webber-Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) sons, Jake and Aiden on Tuesday, April 5.

Michael Blake Kruse has been playing Rory Cabrera. The character is the new rookie cop at the Port Charles police department.

General Hospital History

GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.

The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) many decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please its viewers.

Current Soap Operas

It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
