Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the not-too-far-off future?

General Hospital C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day-player roles? Are any well-remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of October 3, 2022

Evil Esme Prince, who hasn’t been seen since she plummeted over the parapet at Wyndemere in August, suddenly resurfaces. Avery Kristen Pohl resumes her role as Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) villainous ex-girlfriend, this week.

KABC Los Angeles news reporter Ellen Leyla appears as Tara on Wednesday, October 5. It’s a case of life imitating art, because Leyla will be portraying a reporter who interviews Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).

Amanda Setton will be MIA for one episode as Brook Lynn Quartermaine, this week. But she’ll be replaced by a familiar face. Briana Lane, who stepped in for Setton during her maternity leave in 2020, will once again portray the character.

Cyrus Hobbi is set to pop back in as Yuri. Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) bodyguard airs this week.

General Hospital History

GH made its debut in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley, taking place at a hospital in an unnamed city. In fact, the setting wasn’t named Port Charles until the 1970s. General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.

From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
