Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the not-too-far-off future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day-player roles? Are any well-remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the GH fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
Primetime special, General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling, unleashed some major news: Steve Burton’s bombshell return to the soap as Jason Morgan. Burton’s character was “killed off” back in 2021, although his body was never recovered. After exiting GH, Burton returned to Days of our Lives as Harris Michaels, a role he first began playing in 1988 first appearing on the Peacock limited series Beyond Salem 2. Burton has already wrapped up filming at DAYS. His first airdate on GH has yet to be revealed.
Bobbie’s (Jacklyn Zeman) funeral brought back a GH co-star from the past. Brighton Hertford, who once played Bobbie’s adopted daughter, BJ Jones, aired as Angela Brighton for two episodes. The character appeared to be an AP reporter from Amsterdam, who was writing an article about Bobbie but was later revealed an angelic BJ.
Ellie Darcey-Alden portrayed Cornelia. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) and Carly (Laura Wright) tracked the young woman down in Canada, upon learning that Bobbie had helped her escape human trafficking.
On the exit front, Ryan Carnes wrapped up his quick visit as Lucas Jones. The character left town after Bobbie’s memorial.
