General Hospital alum Kimberly McCullough has been keeping very busy away from Port Charles as her directing career has been on fire lately. But being busy didn’t keep her from feeling a little nostalgic this week about her late father.
Kimberly McCullough Shares a Throwback Thursday
Taking advantage of Throwback Thursday on Instagram, the actress shared a poignant memory of her father tied to a very special time in her life. “One of the many things my dad saved for me in his trunk of treasures,” she wrote, adding a photo featuring an item from one of Broadway’s most iconic shows. “This Les Miserables towel from the Los Angeles Schubert theatre production circa 1987.”
The towel holds special significance to McCullough, as she played an important role in the show as a child. “He came to see me play Cosette when i was only 9 years old,” she shared. “He wasn’t always around when i was young but after he died and I was able to see all these treasures he saved for me, it became apparent that his love was constant and he was proud of me.”
For those lucky enough to have seen McCullough sing little Cosette’s anthem, “Castle on the Cloud,” many of her fans are envious! Kimberly McCullough listed a few other items that her dad had saved for her in a special box, including some vintage toys and an item of clothing that she wonders over. “A fringe leather jacket (it’s amazing) of my dads that Otis almost fits into!” she wrote, expressing surprise that her 4-year-old son could just about wear it. “Some days I miss my dad. How about y’all?”
On-screen, we haven’t seen much of Robin Scorpio in Port Charles of late, but she pops in occasionally, most recently for General Hospital’s tribute to the late John Reilly (ex-Sean Donely).
Kimberly McCullough has stayed plenty busy in television though, directing most of this season’s Disney+ hit, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and helming the upcoming Fantasy Island revival as well. Fans would love nothing more than to see her return to GH and reunite with her on-screen parents — dad Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and mom Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Now that would be a fantasy people would ask for.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes. For more about what’s coming up in Port Charles, check out all the latest that’s been posted on GH spoilers, and for an in-depth look at the show’s history, click here.
