There’s no doubt that actor Coby Ryan McLaughlin left quite an impression on General Hospital viewers with his portrayal of cult leader Shiloh, who wreaked havoc for many Port Charles favorites a couple of years ago. Now the actor is shooting a new film — but the role feels awfully familiar to him.

Coby Ryan McLaughlin — A New Lifetime Project

The actor took to his Instagram stories to show off the location for his new independent film, which was tagged with Lifetime, so we know it’s for that network, but he was pretty cagey on the details — except he did reveal a pretty big clue to the subject matter.

“What you have to know about this little project I’m doing,” he said, as he kept the camera trained on himself, looking into it sincerely, “is that it’s something I’ve done before.” Using his finger for emphasis, he continued, “I’ve played this guy before. It was on a certain soap opera I was on…what was it,” he teased, rubbing his chin as if trying to remember details.

One quick look at the actor’s IMDB page and the answer becomes even more clear. He’s currently filming a project called Dangerous Cult, in which he plays a character named Ken, which we’re betting is probably the head of the…um…dangerous cult. Will he be as evil as Shiloh was? After all, he made the lives of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), and Kristina Davis (Lexi Ainsworth), nevermind Willow Tait Chase (Katelyn MacMullen) complete hell. Either way, we’re sure Coby Ryan McLaughlin will be amazing in it!

He’s not the only soap alum in the project. Fans of Jade Harlow (ex-Sheryl Connors, Days of our Lives; ex-Jessica Bennett, Passions) should keep an eye out for her as she’ll be playing a character named Nicole.

So has Port Charles truly seen the last of Shiloh? It certainly seems that way but since it is a soap, you never know. As for McLaughlin, he could certainly return as a lookalike or twin. In the meantime, keep a lookout for his film on Lifetime sometime next year.
