GH Alum Briana Nicole Henry Announces She’s Pregnant With First Child

Back in mid-September, Briana Nicole Henry bid farewell to her role as Jordan Ashford on General Hospital. While the actress has continued to have a social media presence, often sharing inspiring quotes on her Instagram stories, the actress recently revealed what she’s been doing since leaving — she’s getting ready to become a mom for the first time!

Briana Nicole Henry Reveals She’s Pregnant

The actress took to her Instagram account to announce the news that she’s have a little bundle of pink with a gorgeous photo that leaves no mistaking that she’s pregnant. But she also makes the announcement with a little trepidation.

“I have been so hesitant about sharing this for a myriad of reasons,” she began. “I think mostly because I’m still processing all this change, this new evolution of myself. Pregnancy is different for everyone, but for myself, it’s revealed a level of vulnerability that has brought me to my knees most days.

“It has illuminated what magic it is that any of us have gotten here in the first place, and that that arrival was due to sacrifice and a deep love,” she continued. “I feel beautiful some days and unfamiliar to myself most. I feel excited and terrified for what this next chapter of my life will demand of me. I feel powerful and weak, I feel like I’m getting to know a completely different version of who I am. One I hadn’t met until I could feel her moving inside of me.”

Her vulnerability about her experience is probably what made many love her in her role as Jordan. And while she may be nervous to share, she’s certainly eloquent enough to do so beautifully. She also addresses how much more about this experience she may be willing to continue shining a light on.

“When I’m ready, I’ll share more about my journey with you all,” she wrote. “Primarily because listening to and reading other mother’s stories about the rawness that is motherhood has helped remind me of my power and that I’m not alone. That pregnancy asks us to become homes to people we never could have dreamt up even in the most beautiful of dreams. That it would demand us to surrender a version of ourselves to people we haven’t met yet but yearn to.”

The actress married composer Kris Bowers on June 6, 2020. She also had a special message for him: “I love you. The thought of you holding our little one in your big beautiful hands makes me want to cry with such gratitude.
