Genie Francis
Beloved General Hospital (GH) star Genie Francis had quite an exciting start to her Memorial Day Weekend when she celebrated her birthday.
Francis was born on May 26, 1962 in Englewood, NJ which means she turned 56 years old on Saturday and enjoyed a barrage of tweets from family, friends, and fans.
The legendary actress is the daughter of two performers, Ivor and Rosemary, and clearly inherited their genes.
She was only 15 years old when she landed the role of Laura Vining on GH, and catapulted to fame in the late 1970s as part of Luke and Laura, soap’s first international supercouple.
Francis has appeared as Laura off and on for 41 years and fans certainly hope to see her on-screen soon if Laura ever decides to return to her new husband from caring for her grandson in Europe.
In addition to playing Laura, the actress also created characters on Days of Our Lives, All My Children, and The Young and the Restless. She’s married to actor Jonathan Frakes and the pair have two grown children.
