It was a shock for General Hospital fans, as well as Cameron’s family and friends when the character decided to shave his head yesterday in solidarity with Franco, the stepfather who is going through radiation treatments. Actor Will Lipton later took to social media to show off his new look.
General Hospital: Hair Affair
“Minimum Effort,” Lipton wrote next to a series of photos of himself with his buzz cut. While a buzz cut is not all that unusual, Lipton (and in turn, Cameron) had quite a head of hair until very recently so this is definitely a different look.
When Joss (Eden McCoy) and Trina (Sydney Mikayla) learned what Cam wanted them to do for him, they refused at first, but Cam convinced them it’s what he wanted and there were tears in their eyes as Joss agreed. When Cam let out a small cry as Joss made the first cut, we cried right along with these three talented teens.

It turns out that was the only cut McCoy made and the GH hair stylists took over after that. McCoy also admitted she was terrified by the scene, which they did in one take due to COVID safety concerns.
“Yes, terrified is accurate, yes one take…I shaved him for a minute and then our brilliant #GH hair stylists took over and did all the hard work. And there were lots of laughs, but the most amazing part by far was William. @LiptonWilliam, you killed today, like always,” McCoy tweeted, along with a video of the behind-the-scenes action that you can see below.
