Does General Hospital’s Michael Need a Love Interest Of His Own?

On General Hospital, Michael is cute enough, rich enough, and nice enough — mobster stepdaddy adoration aside. So why has he never been enough to warrant a love interest of his own that sticks?

Think about it: Kiki (Hayley Erin) was a Morgan (Bryan Craig) hand-me-down. Nelle (Chloe Lanier) had a past with Chase (Josh Swickard), and now Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) looks well on her way to a future with the hot cop. Even Sasha doesn’t look like she’s going to stay around.

So where does that leave Michael (Chad Duell)? Does he need a love interest all of his own? What over 5,000 fans had to say:

Let Him Have It!
Of course, he does, a nearly unanimous 98% of you insist. Why should a rich, nice, handsome kid like Michael be alone while a whiny guy like Peter (Wes Ramsey) is beating women off with a stick? It doesn’t make sense!

Sure, Michael’s taste in women is crap. But, what can you expect? He was raised by Carly (Laura Wright). In addition to all of the above, there was also whats-her-name, the hooker. Also not a great choice for long-term love. But there are some nice girls in Port Charles. And some not-so-nice ones. Who would still be better than Nelle.

How about Sasha (Sofia Mattsson)? Sure, she’s scamming Nina (Michelle Stafford), and no one is quite sure what her deal is. But she and Michael have chemistry. And she doesn’t appear attached at the moment.

Nothing Doing
Only 2% believe Michael doesn’t deserve a darn thing. He’s needy, he’s whiny, and all of his relationships end badly. Heck, sometimes his girlfriends even die. Why inflict that on any girl, naughty or nice?

How about Michael focus on untangling the Jonah/Wiley mess, and then on being a great dad? Take a break from dating for a spell.
