Sasha’s out-of-nowhere pregnancy was an unexpected twist on General Hospital, and when it was first revealed, the storyline possibilities were compelling. However, the soap made a big blunder making Brando (Johnny Wactor) the baby daddy when it clearly should have been Michael.
Mixed Doubles
Having Michael (Chad Duell) be the father would have totally upended the already tangled Sasha/Michael/Willow/Chase quadrangle. Michael and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) had just proclaimed their love and were planning a future together when Willow rushed to Chase’s (Josh Swickard) hospital bedside after he was poisoned. Despite her commitment to Michael, she was determined to be there for the ex she still cared for.
Add Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) pregnant with Michael’s baby to the mix, and things suddenly get more interesting and complicated. Remember how Sasha selflessly gave up Michael, so he could marry Willow and secure custody of Wiley? It set the groundwork for Michael to now selflessly give up Willow for the sake of Sasha and their unborn baby. And, surely, kind Willow would feel compelled to be onboard putting a child first, exactly like Sasha had done.

Relationship Roulette
The star-crossed Michael and Willow would have been forced apart since nothing shatters a daytime relationship faster than a baby on the way with another woman. The fact that Michael and Sasha had once been deeply in love would have added another dimension to the drama. Surely the pair would have grown closer while awaiting the birth of their child, and, perhaps, even rekindle their old feelings for each other.
Odd Woman Out
It would have left Willow the odd woman out. She’d have had to move off the Quartermaine estate, separating herself from both Michael and young Wiley. The heartbreaking turn could have sent her rushing back into Chase’s life, helping to nurse him back to health and, eventually, recommitting to him.
Order Restored
The original pairings of Sasha and Michael and Chase and Willow would have been restored as they were meant to be. That is until Sasha and Chase one day learned their mates were ready to ditch them for each other when fate intervened. It would have paved the way for another upheaval in the twisted foursome’s lives. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
