General Hospital Wild Speculation: The Return Of Claudette?

When you hear a name mentioned on a soap you haven’t heard in ages, you know something is probably coming. And, on General Hospital this week we heard all about Claudette. Not just her name, but even part of her back story.

A General Hospital Comeback?

And then, dun dun dun…Griffin (Matt Cohen) announced that he doesn’t think Claudette  (Bree Williamson) really killed herself because it wasn’t her style. Nope. It wasn’t. So, we assume he suspects foul play, but what sort of foul play? (And was this GH’s purpose for bringing Griffin back for two days, because otherwise, there was no real purpose, but that’s a whole other story.)

Did anyone ever think Claudette was really dead and would stay away from Port Charles forever? Not with the way she quietly left town and then was declared deceased. Of course, there had to be more to it and it looks like GH is finally going to play that beat.

Yes, she’s been mentioned several times over the last few years, including by the allegedly late Cassandra (does anyone even think SHE is really dead?) and we have a feeling Cassandra (Jessica Tuck) has had her stashed someplace. With Cassandra out of the picture (for now?), Claudette may have found her escape.

Setting Up A Mystery

And if Claudette escapes, she is likely gunning for Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) as so many others are in Port Charles. Right now, we have Nina (Cynthia Watros), Ava (Maura West), Nikolas (Marcus Coloma), Laura (Genie Francis), and even maybe even Hayden (Rebecca Budig) if she makes a return.

Why not add Claudette to the mix? Since we haven’t seen her in several years and is presumed dead, she’d be the least likely suspect in a ‘Who Shot Valentin?’ story we can see coming.

Plus, how much conflict can this add to Charlotte’s life? Remember, the girl thought Claudette was her mom until she arrived in Port Charles. And Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) is a chip off the old Claudette block, although they don’t share DNA. Lulu (Emme Rylan) may have a fight on her hands. And what might Charlotte ultimately do if Claudette explains ‘Papa’ has kept her away all this time?

Bringing back Claudette offers all sorts of storyline complications and we have to say, we are definitely here for it. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
