General Hospital Wild Speculation: Is Chase The Father Of Nelle’s Baby?

It’s seemed obvious to us from the start that Nelle’s baby is NOT Michael’s on General Hospital (GH). After all, that would be too simple and tie Nelle to Michael forever when it’s clear the show is trying to now veer him away from her.

Sure, she had paternity tests sent directly to him that say he’s the father, but Nelle (Chloe Lanier) also has a pretty tight relationship with Brad (Parry Shen) that came out of nowhere. Or, maybe it didn’t come out of nowhere.

Perhaps she befriended him ages ago when she first had the DNA tests done and he faked them for her since he is the head of the lab at GH and has been known to do such things before.

But, how would Chase then be the father if he didn’t arrive in Port Charles until February and Nelle had a baby bump by then?

Well, there’s absolutely nothing to say that the pair didn’t rekindle whatever they had in Florida for one night late last fall.

Perhaps Nelle was distraught over her breakup with Michael (Chad Duell) and Zack’s death being brought up again.

Perhaps she turned to the cop who had already fallen for her and almost lost everything because of it. It’s clear Chase (Josh Swickard) is still carrying some sort of torch for Nelle since he is also carrying her picture around.

Their “relationship” may have ended a while ago, but that isn’t to say one indiscretion didn’t result in the baby Nelle’s been pregnant with for what seems like forever.

Sure, he didn’t ask her if he was the father this week when he saw how very pregnant she was, but maybe he’s still a fool for love and takes the word of the little viper when she says this baby is a Quartermaine-Corinthos.

Either way, it would certainly make things much more interesting for everyone involved if someone else could stake claim to this poor child and put poor Michael out of his misery.
