Will Valentin Forgive Anna for Their Past?

With General Hospital airing on ABC, and ABC being owned by Disney, is it any surprise that, when fans finally learned Valentin’s backstory, it proved to be a combination of Cinderella and The Hunchback of Notre Dame?

Poor, little, unloved, deformed orphan, banished to boarding school (but not a fun one, like Hogwarts, that’s not a Disney property). And while Helena adequately filled the role of Evil Stepmother, Valentin cast The Woman Repulsed By His Hideousness part with — Anna (Finola Hughes). Will he ever get over what he perceives as the snub that turned him from simple genius to Mad Genius?

Let It Go
First things first, Val. Anna doesn’t remember events precisely the way that you do, so isn’t it possible that you may have misinterpreted the whole thing? And even if you didn’t, so what? That was a long time ago. Grow up. Get over it. You’re a dad now to that oddly aged embryo. She’s got tons of choices when it comes to parents, so you’d better step up and set a good example.

His responsibility to Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) is what makes 47% of you think that Valentin will finally make peace with his past.

First Cut Is the Deepest
On the other hand, 29% of viewers are convinced Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) anger is what keeps him going.

He practically admitted as much to Anna, claiming that it was her rejection that made him the man he is today. So he’s going to keep clinging to his pain. It’s the source of his power.

Same Difference
Despite what Disney would like small children to believe, not all ugly, unhappy creatures are truly beautiful on the inside. Some of them might be ugly, unhappy, and also terrible people.

A good 24% of you haven’t made up your minds yet regarding which category Valentin fits into no matter how often Nina (Michelle Stafford) sings his praises. And so you’re withholding judgment about any future actions.
