Sydney Mikayla, who’s been stealing scenes all year on General Hospital as Josslyn’s best friend, Trina, is about to become a Netflix star.
The 16-year-old actress, who has also appeared in The Gabby Douglas Story and School of Rock, makes her debut in Kip and the Age of Wonderbeasts, a DreamWorks animated series set to begin streaming on January 14.
Mikayla shared her excitement on Twitter, saying: “So excited to finally share this news! Coming soon to @NetflixSuch an honor to be a part of this new #DRMWRX series.”
According to Deadline the series is about, “A curious young girl named Kipo [who] is thrust into an adventure on the surface of a fantastical post-apocalyptic Earth. She joins a ragtag group of survivors as they embark on a journey through a vibrant wonderland where everything trying to kill them is downright adorable.”
Mikayla will lend her voice to a character named Wolf, the savvy survivor brimming with confidence who seems like a ringleader in this unique cast of characters.
Sydney Mikayla has become quite a popular member of the General Hospital teen scene of late and has even joined Ava’s world as her gallery intern. Trina’s deep friendship with Cam (Will Lipton) has helped her through some hard times and her confidence has kept Josslyn (Eden McCoy) from falling apart over Oscar’s (Garren Stitt)death.
Sadly, Dev (Ashton Arbab) turned her down when she made her move on Halloween, but that hasn’t stopped Trina from brushing herself off and moving on. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
