Last month, General Hospital star Sofia Mattsson revealed that her dream of creating and owning her own business had finally come true. With the help of her sister (also an actress), Helena Mattsson, the two women launched Ava Carrington — and now that business is poised for the big leagues, thanks to a recent meeting with Google.
Earlier this week, Mattsson went before the folks at Google to talk about her business — and the actress shared the experience with her followers on Instagram — complete with a picture of her onstage. Although she is watched by millions every day with her soap role, it didn’t exactly prepare her for the butterflies she was about to experience.
“Yesterday I got the opportunity to present my company at @google and I was more nervous about this than I’ve ever been before filming a scene! 🙈 But I absolutely loved every second of it! Probably because I’m so proud and excited about our brand and what we have accomplished so far,” she wrote of the experience.
Hard Work Pays Off
The sister act has developed a line of ethical, vegan handbags, made from high-quality materials that won’t harm the environment. “Being an entrepreneur is a lot of work but it doesn’t feel like it when you’re passionate and love what you do 🖤 @carringtonava”
While Mattsson is living her best life offscreen, her General Hospital character hasn’t been having an easy time of things lately. It feels like everyone around her is judging her for what she did to Nina (Cynthia Watros) and even though she has Michael (Chad Duell) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) support, it may not be enough.
Then again, if she leans into the scandal and takes a job with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) as the face of Deception, she could end up as successful as the actress herself is poised to be with her own new business. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
