Some sad news for General Hospital’s Scarlett Fernandez from last weekend, as the young actress took a nasty fall on her bike and ended up in the hospital.
General Hospital Star Scarlett Fernandez’s Bike Accident
The actress (or probably her mom) behind Charlotte Cassadine took to social media to alert fans of the news. On her Twitter account, there was a photo of her in a hospital bed with both arms in casts. “Wishing this was part of a #gh script,” she wrote. “Last weekend I was in a bike crash. I had surgery on both arms and stitches on my chin and I spent a couple days in the hospital. Next up, fixing four broken molars. Extremely grateful for everyone who helped me.”
Fernandez went into further detail on her Instagram account. “Extremely grateful for my helmet, the paramedics, the ER staff, the nurses and doctors at the hospital I was transferred to, the therapy dog that visited me, and my surgeon,” she said. “Not the way I wanted to spend my summer, but happy I’m feeling better each day.”
Plenty of her GH castmates sent their love and well wishes for a speedy recovery. Maura West (Ava) replied to her Instagram post with “Oh, NO! Oh, sweet girl…I’m so sorry this happened and so grateful your injuries aren’t worse! Sending love and a hug from [her daughter] Birdie, too.”
Others who chimed in with concern include William deVry (ex-Julian), William Lipton (Cameron), Katelyn MacMullen (Willow), and Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma). Cynthia Watros (Nina), wrote, “Oh my sweet Scarlett. Giving you the biggest hug. My heart stopped while I was reading this..can’t wait to see you again!”
Entertainment Tonight correspondent Matt Cohen, who played Griffin Munro, who at one point thought he was Charlotte’s dad, also sent his best. “Heal up my friend! Glad you are on the mend!” he responded to her Tweet.
We at Soap Hub join them in wishing Scarlett Fernandez a speedy recovery. Although we haven’t seen much of Charlotte onscreen since the pandemic, Lulu and Valentin’s daughter has been exhibiting some Cassadine traits of late, bullying Aiden and becoming something of a bad seed. Will she take after Grandma Helena even more? Stay tuned! General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
