Daytime Emmy winner Patricia Bethune, who had a memorable run as Carly’s tormentor Nurse Mary Pat on General Hospital, has landed a prime time guest spot that’s airing later this week.
Life After General Hospital
Bethune is guesting on this week’s episode of Mom, the critically-acclaimed Chuck Lorre sitcom starring Anna Faris and Allison Janney (ex-Donna, Guiding Light). The series also stars William Fitchner (ex-Rod/Josh, As the World Turns) as Adam.
“Surprised to see a guest spot I shot a few weeks ago is airing this week on MOM, CBS Thursday, February 6,” Bethune posted on social media. “Such a nice talent cast to work with for a week. #mom #cbs #comedy #lovetolaugh”
The episode is titled Cheddar Cheese and A Squirrel Circus. The setup has Tammy’s (Kristen Johnston) Aunt Cookie (Kathleen Turner, ex-Nola, The Doctors) taking a second chance she’s received following a successful kidney transplant for granted. Meanwhile, Christy attempts to track down a handsome stranger whom she believes is her soulmate.
Bethune guest stars as Wanda. No other additional information is available about her role. GH fans won’t soon forget her portrayal of sadistic Mary Pat, a nurse at Ferncliff who made Carly’s (Laura Wright) life a living hell!
Sadly, Mary Pat went to that great soap in the sky after crossing paths with killer Ryan Chamberlin (Jon Lindstrom). The actress didn’t walk away empty-handed. At last year’s Daytime Emmys, she took home the statuette for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series.
Also, guest-starring in this episode is Ted McGinley (ex-Clay, Dynasty) as Dr. Bernson, Tracy Vilar as Lorraine, David Chan as the waiter. Michael Collins has been cast as Good-Looking Man, Makai Dudeck is Kid # 1, and Maile Dudekck is Kid # 2. Mom airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on CBS. General Hospital airs weekdays on CBS.
