General Hospital Star Maurice Benard Revels In Grandfatherhood

Fans of General Hospital’s Sonny Corinthos know he’s all about family and the actor who portrays him, Maurice Benard, shares that in common with his alter ego. The Daytime Emmy-winning star recently became a grandfather — and he’s letting his fans know it’s a role he’s thrilled to play.

The actor recently took to Instagram to show off a picture of his new granddaughter, Eloise Rose Andreson, courtesy of daughter Heather and her husband Phil. The picture — and the look of pure joy on his face — will melt even the coldest heart out there.

Not surprisingly, congratulations came in immediately from his social media followers who could relate to his unmitigated joy, letting the actor know that it just keeps getting better and better when you’re a grandparent.

These days in Port Charles, Sonny is trying to pick up the pieces again after his father, Mike’s (Max Gail), death from Alzheimer’s disease while also having to watch his back thanks to the new baddie mobster in town, Cyrus (Jeff Kober). Brando (Johnny Wactor) is on the case, playing double agent and putting his life in danger.
