Fans of General Hospital’s Sonny Corinthos know he’s all about family and the actor who portrays him, Maurice Benard, shares that in common with his alter ego. The Daytime Emmy-winning star recently became a grandfather — and he’s letting his fans know it’s a role he’s thrilled to play.

The actor recently took to Instagram to show off a picture of his new granddaughter, Eloise Rose Andreson, courtesy of daughter Heather and her husband Phil. The picture — and the look of pure joy on his face — will melt even the coldest heart out there.
“Someone once told me life doesn’t start till you’re a grandfather,” wrote Benard. “Thank you Eloise Rose Andreson for jumpstarting my life🎁 @leftyandresen #family #loveyou @d_marie118 @paulabenard @caileysavila @cassidyrosebenard @cavila628.”
Not surprisingly, congratulations came in immediately from his social media followers who could relate to his unmitigated joy, letting the actor know that it just keeps getting better and better when you’re a grandparent.
“Congrats!!” commented @cathygw3. “She is beautiful & the way she’s looking at you she’s grandpa‘s girl for sure!!🌸🍼🎀💕” while another Instagram user, @stoiafrances said, “Congratulations to you and your family. She is just adorable! May God bless her and keep her in his care.🙏🙏” The actor thanked them and most others who sent their sweet words of support.
