It’s a safe bet to say that General Hospital has some of the most passionate fans out there and they love the actors on their favorite soap. As Maurice Benard is one of the most popular, it’s not a surprise that a special message from the actor would be in high demand but it also brought one woman to tears — of joy!

Maurice Benard — Reach Out And Touch Someone

As you may have seen on social media, many actors have joined a website called Cameo, in which you can purchase a message from any number of well-known actors or sports figures. Benard recently shared one special message as it was received by a woman named Virginia.

“The reason I’m on @cameo is because of beautiful moments like this,” wrote the actor alongside the video. In it, the woman’s granddaughter is holding out a phone for the lady to watch. “My name is Maurice Benard, I play Sonny on General Hospital,” begins the video, causing tears to immediately start falling from the older woman’s eyes.

“I just wanted to tell you,” he continues, “you’re probably wondering what the heck I’m doing talking to you, but your grandkids love you very, very much. They tell me that you’re having surgery and I’m telling you that you have nothing to worry about. You stay strong, you stay in the moment, not the narrative in your thoughts, get those out, think positive, you know, just know that everybody loves you and guess who else loves you?”

At that point, the woman said, “You?” And Benard responded, “Meeeeee” as laughs could be heard all around. “I’ll be thinking about you,” continued Benard as the woman thanked him.

The post had an unexpected outcome when in the comments section, former co-star Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda) wrote, “As per usual you just schooled me. 😭 Ok I’ll join 😩😩😩” Benard answered her back saying, “@vanessamarcilmlovesk I felt the same way you did I tell you you will not regret it🌹” General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
