Daytime devotees don’t get to see original content on the weekends, but this Saturday all soap fans are going to want to head to their computers to watch a variety show that’s being put together by some of your favorite stars, including General Hospital favorite Laura Wright.

Laura Wright Teams Up For A Good Cause

The variety show is being billed as Daytime Cares: A Live Event. As previously, reported it’s the brainchild of General Hospital star Laura Wright (Carly), Days of our Lives’ Arianne Zucker (Nicole), and Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel) and Alan Locher, producer of The Locher Room, which features daytime actor reunions on YouTube.

“Our fans have supported us for decades,” Laura Wright (Carly) said in a statement. “Daytime actors are used to being able to connect with our fans in person. We can’t do that right now, but this show is our way of giving them a virtual ‘hug’ to let them know that we are all in this together.

“And we are so happy to partner with Arianne and Shawn. Their Daytime Cares website provides information and resources for those affected by this crisis and or looking for ways to give back.”

“I grew up watching these shows, long before I started working in the industry,” Locher added. “I truly understand the connection fans have to their favorite daytime actors and characters. I started The Locher Room because I suspected that the fans – like myself – would love to see some familiar faces during this difficult time in our lives. I’ve truly been blown away by the response. I’m so excited that I can use my channel for this special live event.”

In addition to previously announced talent, Daytime Cares: A Live Event will feature appearances and/or performances by GH stars Wes Ramsey (Peter), Emme Rylan (Lulu), Cynthia Watros (Nina), Maura West (Ava), and Josh Swickard (Chase), the man who was a standout at the last two Nurses Ball events!

Also participating are Days of our Lives’ James Reynolds (Abe) and Melissa Reeves (Jennifer). The Young and the Restless will be represented by Scott Reeves (ex-Ryan) and Jordi Vilasuso (Rey).
