Soaps have been filled with musical numbers over the decades including the Nurses Ball on General Hospital, the CT Scanner Review on Days of our Lives, and many others. Now, soap stars are putting on a real-life variety show to uplift fans during the COVID-19 Crisis.
Laura Wright, Ari Zucker Team Up
The variety show will be hosted by Laura Wright (Carly, General Hospital) and The Locher Room host Alan Locher. It will be presented in partnership with Daytime Cares, a Daytime TV Community spearheaded by Arianne Zucker (Nicole, Days of our Lives) and Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel, DAYS), spotlighting non-profit organizations offering COVID-19 support and resources. The show will be live-streamed on The Locher Room YouTube Channel and on Facebook. StreamYard.com is sponsoring the event.
The all-star lineup of participants includes Maurice Bernard (Sonny, GH), Finola Hughes (Anna, GH), Michael E. Knight (Martin, GH; ex-Tad, All My Children), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, The Young and the Restless), and Kim Zimmer (ex-Reva, Guiding Light; ex-Echo, One Life to Live)!

Days of our Lives stars are also anticipated on the show, including Lamon Archey (Eli), Crystal Chappell (ex-Carly), Kassie DePaiva (ex-Eve), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen), Bill Hayes (Doug), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie), and Kyle Lowder (Rex). Additional GH stars taking part include Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke), William deVry (Julian), Katelyn MacMullen (Willow), Sofia Mattsson (Sasha), and Chad Duell (Michael).
One Life to Live will be represented even further (of course Kassie DePaiva and Kim Zimmer also appeared on the ABC show) by James DePaiva (ex-Max) and Andrea Evans (ex-Tina). The event is called Daytime Cares: A Live Event and is set to take place on Saturday, May 9th at 8 PM E.T.
