These days, Sonny is sharing scenes with actress Joyce Guy, who plays Phyllis Caufield, on General Hospital. Phyllis is trying to help “Mike” (AKA Sonny) get his life back on track. She has another tie to the story canvas as Phyllis was the nurse who gave Nina’s daughter Nelle away.
Joyce Guy — Her Pride Shines
Off-screen, Guy, an actress/playwright/director (and more), supports a dear relative who has created her own body care product line.
“So very proud of my niece ‘Nay’ Cohen and her new line of body care products, EAJAA Body Care (the name are the first initial of her children),” Guy shared on Instagram. “She mixes the ingredients herself. The artwork on the containers was created by her oldest daughter. It’s all in the family! Check out her products at eajaabc.com. Support Black business! #blackgirlmagic #blackbusiness.”
Guy has quite the acting resume. She’s appeared on numerous series including How To Get Away With Murder, Parenthood, The Mentalist, Hart of Dixie, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Nip/Tuck, Grey’s Anatomy, The West Wing, Desperate Housewives, and Friends.
The actress has daytime shows on her resume, too. She recurred from 1998 to 1999 on Sunset Beach as Mrs. Moreau, who dabbled in mystical arts. In 2010, she played the short-term role of Days of our Lives’ Lois McTavish, a guard who aided Nicole (Arianne Zucker) when she was in prison. The following year, there was a one-day stint on GH as a character named Betty.
This time around, Guy’s GH husband is Rif Hutton (Lenny). Right now, they’re two of the few people who know that Sonny is alive, but they don’t know who he really is! Viewers have learned that Phyllis and Nina (Cynthia Watros) have a connection from the time when Nina was institutionalized and delivered a baby while still in a coma. When will Sonny’s loved ones discover that he’s alive? Stay tuned to find out! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for airtimes.
