Events are being canceled or postponed due to the coronavirus crisis but General Hospital star Eden McCoy is hoping that one annual tradition is able to continue on-screen as planned! The actress would like for her and a co-star to pay tribute to a well-known Alicia Silverstone movie in October.
Eden McCoy: Joss Is Ready For Dress-Up
“GH Halloween better not be canceled because Sydney @SydneyMikayla and I NEED TO BE Cher and Dion[ne],” McCoy posted on Twitter. The actress is referring to Silverstone’s character, Cher, from the film Clueless and she sees Sydney Mikayla (Trina) as Cher’s confidante/pal Dionne, played in the film by Stacey Dash.
The hit 1996 movie tells the tale of a rich high school girl and her efforts to help boost the popularity of another student while trying to find love along the way. The film also starred Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and the late Brittany Murphy (Just Married; King of the Hill).
McCoy just may get her wish for Halloween. Frank Valentini, GH’s executive producer, tweeted back to the young leading lady that he’s already alerted the show’s writers of her desire. McCoy posted in response: “Quarantine depression is now cured.”
McCoy joined the cast of GH in 2015 as Josslyn Jacks, the daughter of Carly (Laura Wright) and Jax (Ingo Rademacher). Last year, the show gave McCoy a huge storyline in which her beloved boyfriend Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt) died. She paid tribute to him with a touching song shortly thereafter during the show’s annual Nurses Ball.
Last month, McCoy took on a new acting challenge when she played a young Carly in the 1990s. Viewers also got some insights into the character of Nelle (Chloe Lanier), who had the same ‘father’ as Carly. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
I’ve already told the writers https://t.co/2I8Az5RU1H
